Daily schedule

  • Day 1: Welcome at Nasser Palace, Merzouga (October 1, 2023)

Your arrival time will be different depending on your hotel transfer, but your amazement will be unforgettable when you see the huge dunes from your Nasser Palace hostel. A warm welcome to the famous Moroccan Tea will await you. After the meal, in the evening, Pat Trahan will give you a short briefing.
  • Day 2: First warm-up on the motorbike and dunes

After taking possession of your motorcycle which will be assigned to you for the whole week, you will immediately plunge into the Moroccan universe: the dunes. First of all, Pat Trahan will show you the principles of safety, how to read the dunes, master them but also how to get out of the sand. Then, he will supervise you in your practice exercises until noon, when your meal will be served to you. After eating, in Morocco, a siesta is customary. It's time to rest a little or take advantage of the cooling of the swimming pool because, between noon and 2 p.m., you never ride in the dunes, it's the peak of heat! You will then have the whole afternoon to practice again and improve your driving techniques in the sand erg. Finally, in the evening,
  • Day 3: We venture even further into the Sahara

This day of training in the dunes will allow you to deepen your techniques and driving skills as you gradually begin to sink deeper and deeper into the desert sand and climb higher and higher dunes. Pat will guide you to a Tuareg village near the Algerian border for a quick visit and then bring you back to your base for lunch. After the swimming pool and a little rest, you will be fresh and available to continue your approach to tame the sand and finally cross the entire erg where a camel ride awaits you to transport you to the sunset!
  • Day 4: Great adventure on the Dakar tracks

It's the day to explore the great tracks of the Paris Dakar. To get there, you will first have to cross the dunes, heading towards Algeria and join the large rolling tracks typical of rally raids, where the Paris Dakar has always passed. Pat will then lead you to a rather mysterious place in the middle of the desert (heavenly staircase and others) and we will return to eat in the rally town of Erfoud. To digest our tajine, we will go to the dunes to go directly to the bivouac where a night worthy of the thousand and one nights awaits you.
  • Day 5: In the south ; Ouzina Dunes

The day to discover a new playground, still in the dunes. You will enjoy a beautiful descent towards the south to go to the erg of Ouzina where you will enjoy delicious traditional Moroccan dishes prepared in a tagine served in a beautiful inn at the foot of the dunes. Pat will invite you to explore the beautiful dunes and big climbs and then guide you on the way back through almost completely off-road terrain to your base camp.
  • Day 6: Last but not least

The last day will take you back to our favorite Erg Chebbi. You'll traverse it back and forth as you can test your skills in high-caliber off-roading on your way to precious metal mines and a few Berber camps. After lunch, Pat will guide you to Zagora, the city known as “The Gates of the Desert”. A magnificent day which will end with a last evening very animated by your discussions filled with magnificent memories of an unforgettable week in the dunes of the Sahara.
